Steps of Repairing
1. Clean the surface: Use an alcohol cotton pad or cleaning cloth dipped in appropriate amount of alcohol (soapy water), gently wipe the small hole and the surrounding surface, ensure that dust, oil and other impurities are removed, and keep dry.
2. Apply glue: Evenly apply appropriate amount of PVC glue to the back of the patch, as well as the PVC fabric around the small hole. Pay attention to control the amount of glue to avoid excessive overflow.
3. Paste the patch: Align the patch with the glue on the small hole, gently press and close it. Make sure the patch covers the hole completely and fits the surrounding fabric tightly.
4. Remove air bubbles: Use your finger or a smooth tool to gently press the patch from the center to all sides to remove possible air bubbles.
5. Wait for curing: According to the instructions of the glue used, wait for a certain curing time. Usually, the glue takes a while to fully cure and achieve the best bond. During this time, avoid applying excessive pressure to the repaired area or performing other operations that may affect the bonding effect.
6. Check: After the curing time is over, check whether the repaired part is firm and smooth, and confirm that there is no bubble, no leakage and other phenomena.
7. Waterproof test (optional) : If conditions permit, a simple waterproof test can be carried out to ensure that the repaired PVC fabric still has good waterproof performance.
Matters needing attention
When performing repair operations, ensure that the working environment is well ventilated and wear appropriate protective equipment (such as gloves, masks, etc.) to avoid skin or respiratory irritation caused by chemicals such as glue.
If the small holes on the PVC fabric are larger or more numerous, it is recommended to seek the help of professionals to repair or re-purchase new products.
